Vallanghy V.R.C.M.U.P. School was established in 1943.Pookkot Govindankutty Manaadiar was the founder manager. 70 years have passed since this temple of learning was built. C.K.M.M.U.P. School was handed over to the new management on its 60th anniversary celebrations. It was in 2003 that Sri. V R Narayanan Nair changed the name of the institution to V.R.C.M.U.P.S in memory of his beloved mother Vadakkae Ravuniyarath Chinnamma Amma and took charge as manager.
